Contract to hire (C2H) staffing services

Contract-to-hire lets you evaluate someone on the job before they join your rolls. The worker sits on A1 Hiring's payroll for an agreed period, then converts on terms fixed at the start — no renegotiation, no conversion dispute.

The real problem

Why this usually goes wrong

Interviews predict performance poorly for operational roles. A supervisor who interviews well can still fail on shift discipline. C2H moves the decision from a 45-minute conversation to a 90-day observation, without the exit cost of a wrong permanent hire.

FAQ

Questions buyers actually ask

How long is a typical evaluation period?

Sixty to ninety days for supervisory and professional roles, thirty to sixty for operational ones. Longer than that starts to look like disguised contract labour, which creates its own exposure.

Is there a conversion fee?

Only if it's stated in the mandate letter, and it's fixed at the start. Agencies that leave conversion pricing open are setting up a negotiation you'll lose.

Does the worker know it's contract-to-hire?

Yes, and they should. Hiding it produces drop-outs at conversion, which defeats the point.

Who pays PF during the evaluation period?

We do, as the employer of record. Service continues seamlessly on conversion because the UAN is portable.
